The semiotics of my idea
How signifiers relate to:
audience (primary and secondary)
(sub)-genre [hybrid]
Representation - stereotypes - counter types
Primary Audience : These would be female teenagers, 12 to 18 as it may contain moderate language as well as sex references.
RomCom's can de described as chick-flick and they attract women due to the romantic aspect of "Happy ending".
Secondary Audience: 17 to 20 females & males.
Genre: RomCom
Sub-genre: Drama
Representation:
Characters:
Females:
Popular girl is represented as self observed and mean.
Geeky girl is represented as shy, smart and self conscious. She is the "The Other"
Tom boy is represented as rebel, careless and protective.
Males:
Jock is represented as kind and understanding.
Jock friend as uneducated, selfish and a flirt.
Demographics:
-Popular girl is quite rich, in A or B category
-Geeky girl is in middle class, C1 or C2
-Tomboy girl is in a middle class as well, C1 or C2
-Jock is quite wealthy, in A or B category
-Jocks friend would also be in A or B category

My ident
Far Star
My ident will be called far star
I made my ident using whiteboard and back and yellow markets.
I used iMovie to edit my video I speed played it added the non-diegetic sound which i made myself using pen and scribbling around on the pen. To make the sound more clear I used my headphones microphone and recorded it on QuickTime Player on Mac Book.
Bellow is the video which I created

Bechdel Test
This are the questions which are asked movies, and tragically most of the movies failed that simple test.
Bellow is the video which explains what Bechdel Test and a few movies which did not pass this test.
Looking at our film opening it is hard to judge weather it passed the test or not. The movies which we were inspired by all passed the test. We do have 4 female characters, they all have names and they did talk to each other. For example in the classroom three mean girls were talking about the geeks girl. This was conversation which did not involve any man however, in the movie girls fight about a new boy which may make us to pass the test.

Tyrannosir
- Restaurant scene
Edit
Paced was gone - lost continuity
Sound
Ambient sound changes - solution is to overdubbing
a dead cat would be needed for the filming. Also a contentious ambiance sound would need to be recorded to to make the shots slide.
Positioning
The shots are all similar and there aren't any changes in angles and positions.
Coverage is when you looking for additional shot might be a close up, people walking behind, sky these are very use full to place it in during the editing.
Cut away- Close up to medium shot.
- Throwing the dog scene
Edit
Continuity is missing
Cross cut is missing
The kick of the dog wasn't dramatic because of the editing. Slow-mo could've been used as well as repeating the loop. Also to slow-mo the flying and when it falls to bring it to the actual timing.
Layering would've looked better in the kicking part
Split screen to re-size the layers.
Sound
to add a dramatic music to it.
- Funeral scene
Camera work/Cinematography
tilt could've went from down upwards instead of going from the top to the bottom
(from the book to the face)
Shallow field off focus.
Master shots
Shaky footage because of the absence of a tripod.
Close up the faces to show the facial expression
tightening in.
Bronwen was looking at the camera lens.
Editing
Need to return to the shots to create a master shot.
That creates continuity.
Cross fade from funeral to the music shop.
- Music Shop
Cinematography
foreshadowing
cross cutting between the piano and the door.
Cross coming
Sound
audio is quite
A dead cat could've been used.
Edit
add in a phrase frame
do a fade at the end
Working Title for our Film Opening
Working Title for our Film Opening
We decided to call our movie #tbh which stands for to be honest.
We came up with that idea as we came across a few movies which use acronyms and hash tags. These are some examples of such as movies "LOL" Lough out loud + the name of the main character Lola.
This movie has two versions of it. The american one made in 2012 with Miley Cyrus playing the main character and the other one, the original is french.
Those movies are mostly romcom genre.
This one is the french versionmade in 2008
Another Example is the movie called "GBF" which stands for "Gay Best Friend" 2013 as well as "DUFF" Designated Ugly Fat Friend"

I have used movie DUFF as an example of Todorovs theory in my pitch.
Both of those movies have the same they are both teen relationship comedy because they both target teenage females. DUFF has a PG- 12 as it contains string language and moderate sex references. However. GBF has a PG-15, this is because it has a moderate sex references.
DUFF(Designated Ugly Fat Friend)
GBF(Gay Best Friend)

Tyrannosir Restaurant Scene
This is a video which we edited for our post production. We worked in a group to get used to editing and to be more familiar with Adobe Premier Pro. We split the scenes among the group to finish the editing faster. I worked with Riona for the restaurant scene. I have done the beginning up to 18 sec and she did the end of the scene. In that way we made it clear who is doing what and were able to share the responsibilities.
